It generates the vocals, instruments, beats and loops you can't play yourself, directly inside your DAW (Ableton Live, Logic Pro, FL Studio, Cubase and more), or in the browser at vst.studiopilot.tech with nothing to install. The official website is studiopilot.tech. StudioPilot is not related to studiopilotmusic.com or any other product named StudioPilot.

Is StudioPilot the same as studiopilotmusic.com?

No. They are two unrelated products that share a name. StudioPilot (studiopilot.tech) is an AI music-generation plugin (VST3 and AU) by DCD development in the Netherlands: it generates vocals, instruments, beats and loops inside your DAW, and works in Ableton Live, Logic Pro, FL Studio, Cubase and more. The product at studiopilotmusic.com is an AI control layer for Ableton Live only and is not a plugin. The two companies have no connection. This site, studiopilot.tech, was also registered first (May 2026, a month before studiopilotmusic.com).

Do I need music theory knowledge?

No. Plain-language prompts work well. Adding theory terms like key, tempo, or scale makes results more precise, but they are optional.

Is there a free trial?

Yes. New accounts receive 100 trial credits, no credit card required. That covers several short generations or processing jobs.

Does StudioPilot replace producers or musicians?

Accepted Answer

No, and it's not meant to. StudioPilot is a tool for producers, not a replacement for one. It plays the parts you can't and fills the gaps so you can finish your track, but the ideas, the arrangement, and the final call stay yours. Think of it as a session player on call, not a stand-in for you.

Which DAWs and plugin formats are supported?

StudioPilot ships as VST3 (Windows and macOS) and Audio Unit (macOS). Confirmed compatible hosts include Ableton Live, Logic Pro, FL Studio, Cubase, Studio One, and Reaper. Bitwig Studio is expected to work but has had less test coverage. See the compatibility page for version-specific status.

Does the plugin work offline?

Generation and processing require an internet connection: the AI models run on our servers. Audio you have already exported is stored locally and available without a connection.

Which operating systems are supported?

Mac (Intel and Apple Silicon M1-M4) and Windows x64. StudioPilot runs inside your DAW as a VST3 (Windows and macOS) or Audio Unit (macOS).

How do I install the plugin?

It depends on your platform. On macOS, download our signed, notarized installer (.pkg) and run it. On Windows, download the signed installer (.exe) and run it. Either way it places the VST3 (and AU on macOS) in the standard plugin folders. Then restart your DAW (or trigger a plugin rescan) and StudioPilot will appear in your plugin list.

What do credits cost per feature?

Instrument, vocal, and audio-transform generations: 10 credits each. Sample generation: 4 credits. Audio detection and analysis is free, it doesn't use credits. Plans include a monthly credit allowance.

The 100 trial credits never expire. Paid credits reset to your plan's allotment each billing cycle.

Can I change my plan?

Yes. Upgrades apply the credit difference immediately. Downgrades take effect at the start of the next billing cycle. Both options are in account settings.

Do prices include VAT?

No, prices are in USD and exclude VAT/sales tax. Any applicable tax is calculated at checkout based on your billing country. Outside the EU, most customers pay no VAT.

I have an EU VAT number, do I pay VAT?

No. Enter your VAT ID at checkout; it is validated automatically and the sale is reverse-charged (0% VAT), with the reverse-charge note on your invoice.

WAV by default; can also export MP3 (320 kbps) and FLAC.

How long are generated clips?

Generated clips follow your source audio, a short loop gives a short take, a longer track a longer one; samples are 2 to 8 seconds. You can regenerate or extend clips as needed.

Can I use generated audio commercially?

Yes. All paid plans (Starter, Producer, and Studio) include full commercial rights. The 100 free trial credits are for personal, non-commercial use only. See the full license agreement for details.

Can I edit audio after generating?

Yes. In the plugin you can trim, loop, and adjust volume, then drag the audio straight onto a DAW track to arrange and edit it there.
